  8. Socialogy: The lowest excuse for a science there is. The only science that does not require a brain to learn.

You tell people you have a Ph.D. and they think, “Wow… that person is smart.”

Then you tell them it’s in sociology and they say, “That figures. I always knew s/he was a dumb .”

    lol

  9. man..i have homework on this video… someone help me !!!

  10. Foolish, absolutely foolish.

  11. Ever taken sociology classes?

  12. nothings ever easy in life, people who say that so and so thing is easy, yes maybe but didn’t you put in the effort to make it easy for yourself;
effort+concentration=good grades+thinking the subject is easy.

    lol

  15. But what if the majority of blacks, collectively decide to ignore any racial jestures or slurs…it would definately create change, what will be left are a bunch of other people describing a situation that doesn’t exist, in the minds of blacks at least
great video…help me to have a much clear idea of what social construction is,thnks

  16. Indeed, one of the things that fascinated me the most about my Intro to Sociology class was learning that there is no scientifically accepted biological basis for what differentiates races.

  17. I think it’s funny how after watching this video the discussion mostly is about black people.

Unfortunately most people have been brainwashed to keep believing in the construction.

  19. Its funny to think that each one of us everyday perpetuates social constructions. While we dont HAVE to, we would be socially ostrasized to an extent if we didnt. for example, i (male)would never wear a skirt to town for the sake of contesting or challenging the socially constructed notion of gender because people would see me as so different that they wouldnt want to associate with me. Unfortunately, thats the nature of social constructions.

  20. @shellcass. why should blacks have to ignore being attacked by racial slurs or jestures. Why can’t others just stop making them? I’m not trying to sound attacking, it’s just why do the victims of attacks have to be the ones to change themself. Why blame the effect instead of the cause?

Gee…thanks for including the comment about the cat being fat. You are influencing the social construction by reinforcing once again that it is acceptable to call things fat. Some day this word may have the same negative connotations as another three letter f word for gay or the n word. Sorry but I don’t say those words.

  22. @RenewableFuel Race is a categorization that obviously has some validity a Chinese man is obviously different than a black man ,I’m confused why your comment is highest rated ?
Dr’s need to know about race ,as some races have a genetic predisposition to some medical conditions .

  23. @DireSloth that sounds like BS to me ,is social science real science ?

  24. “American tourists are often surprised when they don’t see fortune cookies in China.” WHAT?? who in the hell expects fortune cookies to be in China? And as for the breakfast thing, these two PHD’s must not have heard of Jack in the Box that serves breakfast 24/7.

  26. With havin so much written content do you ever run into any problems of plagorism or copyright violation? My website has a lot of unique content I’ve either created myself or outsourced but it seems a lot of it is popping it up all over the web without my permission. Do you know any solutions to help stop content from being ripped off? I’d genuinely appreciate it.
