What is your opinion?
It is now in the appeals court, the case of a young student in N.Y, who used language on her internet blog, “Jamfest is canceled due to douchebags in central office” and also referred to an administrator “who is off”.
note: alower court has supported the school by a U.S. District Judge, dening the students request for an injunction on the grounds she could be punished for writing in a blog because the blog addressed school issues and was likely to be read by other students.
note:The student feels the school violed her free speech rights when the school barred her from serving on the student council because of what she wrote from her home computer.
final note: In 1969 the Supreme court said schools could ban expression if they can show that not doing so would interfere with schoolwork or dicipline. In a later ruling, it allowed officials to bar ” vulgar and lewd” speech if it would undermine the school’s educational mission. But both cases involved event

If you blog it….its like saying it in public….or to someones face….if you are in an organization like work, school or office your comments are relevant and can and could cause concern to that organization that organization can take action against you……..like….you have a rommie……….he blogs dirt about you………you toss his/her @ss out…..did you violate his/her free speech……….think about it…………..

Question by innocence faded: Can an employer make you work for free if they dock your pay when you do not work?
If I am late to work, I am docked for the amount of time I am late. If I use up my sick days and call in sick, I am not paid for the day. Yet my employer wants me to start working early if I get there early, work during my lunch hour if I am in the building, and stay after the time I am supposed to go home, without getting paid any extra for it. Also, they became angry when they wanted the office “cleaned top to bottom” and I refused to go in on a Saturday to do it, since I would not have been paid for it. Is it legal for them to demand work without pay?

This does not sound legal to me try calling labor and industry for laws. You should be able to find the listing for your area in the blue pages of the telephone book. I would not let up looking into this. You are an employee, hired for pay!

Question by forever: Can you help me backup all my music from itunes and photos to my “Free Agent Desk”?
Yeah, I just got this “Free Agent Desk” External Drive so that I can keep my itunes and photos on it when the computer breaks. I tried to “backup” but the capacity is 931.5 GB but the availabe space is 931.3 GB which means that none of my music or photos went on it.
I have more than 8 GB of music and videos plus a lot more of photos. This thing is making me mad because I do not know who to put all my stuff onto it. Please help. Thanks.

I wouldn’t use the backup button. Instead Open a explorer window to the Free Agent Disk (a hard drive other that c:\ in my computer, probably labeled as freeagent or something) and drag the files onto the disk. It takes a while, especially with 8 GB, but you have more control. You don’t want to backup programs, they’ll have to be re-installed anyway. Just documents, photos, and music (and videos). If you drag them they’ll copy to the external Hard Drive.
